Eligible Students
Applicants must be seniors graduating in the current school year, residents of Polk County , reside within the 97304 zip code area, and must be eligible for enrollment at an eligible institution. Applicants must maintain a minimum high school GPA of 2.75.
Eligible Institutions
Eligible institutions include a public or private, generally accredited post-secondary institution providing undergraduate study or training located in the State of Oregon .
Award Notification
Prior to June 1, the West Salem Business Association will send the recipients a “Notice of Award.” The recipient is required to sign and return one copy of the notice to the West Salem Business Association, acknowledging the terms and certifying that the scholarship funds will be used for educational expenses.
Scholarship Amounts
There will be two (2) scholarships awarded, each in the amount of $500.
Disbursement of Funds
Each recipient shall receive a letter certifying the award. This letter should be sent to the university registrar (or other appropriate official) so they may submit it on behalf of the recipient for payment to be applied toward school tuition. Scholarship funds will become void if not used within a two-year period.
Application
Applicants must complete all questions on the application (please use the application unless additional space is needed). Questions need to be answered as thoroughly as possible so the Scholarship Committee can become well acquainted with the applicant's background. Applications will be rated on the following criteria:
